詩篇90篇10節:我們一生的年日是70歲,若是強壯可到80歲;但其中所矜誇的,不過是勞苦愁煩、轉眼成空,我們便如飛而去。
傳道書11章8節:人活多年,就當快樂多年;然而也當想到黑暗的日子,因為這日子必多,所要來的都是虛空。
傳道書12章13~4節:這些事都已經聽見了!總意就是【敬畏神】、【謹守祂的誡命】,這是人所當盡的本份。因為人所做的事,連一切隱藏的事,無論是善是惡,神都必審問。

詩 39:1 (大衛的詩,交與伶長耶杜頓。)我曾說:我要謹慎我的言行,免得我舌頭犯罪;惡人在我面前的時候,我要用嚼環勒住我的口。
詩 39:1 I said, I will take heed to my ways, That I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, While the wicked is before me.
詩 39:2 我默然無聲,連好話也不出口;我的愁苦就發動了,

詩 39:5 Behold, thou hast made my days [as] handbreadths; And my life-time is as nothing before thee: Surely every man at his best estate is altogether vanity. [Selah]
詩 39:6 世人行動實係幻影。他們忙亂,真是枉然;積蓄財寶,不知將來有誰收取。
詩 39:6 Surely every man walketh in a vain show; Surely they are disquieted in vain: He heapeth up [riches], and knoweth not who shall gather them.
詩 39:7 主啊,如今我等甚麼呢?我的指望在乎你!
詩 39:7 And now, Lord, what wait I for? My hope is in thee.
詩 39:8 求你救我脫離一切的過犯,不要使我受愚頑人的羞辱。
詩 39:8 Deliver me from all my transgressions: Make me not the reproach of the foolish.
詩 39:9 因我所遭遇的是出於你,我就默然不語。
詩 39:9 I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; Because thou didst it.
詩 39:10 求你把你的責罰從我身上免去;因你手的責打,我便消滅。
詩 39:10 Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thy hand.
詩 39:11 你因人的罪惡懲罰他的時候,叫他的笑容(的笑容:或作所喜愛的)消滅,如衣被蟲所咬。世人真是虛幻!(細拉)
詩 39:11 When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, Thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: Surely every man is vanity. [Selah]
詩 39:12 耶和華啊,求你聽我的禱告,留心聽我的呼求!我流淚,求你不要靜默無聲!因為我在你面前是客旅,是寄居的,像我列祖一般。
詩 39:12 Hear my prayer, O Jehovah, and give ear unto my cry; Hold not thy peace at my tears: For I am a stranger with thee, A sojourner, as all my fathers were.
詩 39:13 求你寬容我,使我在去而不返之先可以力量復原。
詩 39:13 Oh spare me, that I may recover strength, Before I go hence, and be no more.
